National Preparedness Month

The Bowie Blade Newspaper is providing readers with stories about disaster preparedness throughout the month of September which is National Preparedness Month.

The stories are being submitted by the Bowie Composite Squadron. Each story ends with a link to our site (http://www.bowiecap.org/) where readers can find more information. The response has been very positive. According to our commander, readers are calling to thank us for providing the information. In addition, the Department of Homeland Security has added links to the Bowie Blade stories on their "Lessons Learned Information Sharing" website.

I encourage everyone to take a look at http://www.bowiecap.org/ and click on the preparedness section. It is important for all of us to take action before disaster strikes. Emergencies happen without warning. It's not just terrorism we need to be concerned about. Disasters can also include fire and weather related events. Check and see if you and your family are prepared.
