The Pilots are all in Alaska

I read an interesting story today. It was written by a long-time friend of mine who works for the FAA.

It's about how Alaska has the highest number of aircraft registered per capita for any state in the country – about one for every 62 people. By contrast, California has about one aircraft for every 1,000 people and New York less than one for every 2,000 people.

In addition to the planes flying within the state, flights are coming in from all over the world.

New technology is making it a bit easier for air traffic controllers trying regulate the skies.
